Star Systems of the Galaxy is an appendix listing star systems, their sectors, regions, and grid coordinates in the Star Wars galaxy. It was first published on June 24, 2025 alongside the galaxy map titled Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com. It introduced 6,280 systems, sectors, and regions that had gone unidentified or unmentioned in Canon until its publication. It acts as a continuation of the Star Wars: The Essential Atlas Online Companion appendices, which were created as a tie-in to the Star Wars Legends reference book The Essential Atlas.[3] As such, many of the systems and sectors, along with their coordinates, have their origins in Legends and reference planets and other astronomical objects that have yet to make their appearance in Canon. Upon launch, the appendix lacked entries related to most media released after early 2024, but the plan for the map and appendix is for it to be updated and revised periodically.[1]
Contents
- A ‡ indicates a system that was carried over from The Essential Atlas and its Online Companion, but the system and any location within it were not referenced in any canon material prior to its inclusion in the new appendix.
- A § indicates a system that was created to account for a Legends location that did not receive a system in The Essential Atlas and its Online Companion.
- A Θ indicates a system that had not previously appeared, but whose planets or moons had previously been included as a labeled point on a map.
- A Φ indicates a system that was created as the origin point for an existing species or denonym; some of these may also have existed in Legends

Unlisted systems
A number of star systems are excluded from the appendix, and were moved to an internal unlisted section. They were excluded because they are only known by a code name, are extragalactic, or lack defined coordinates. They were listed, without coordinates or sectors, on Jason Fry's Substack where he shared information about the appendix's restoration. According to Jason Fry, these systems still exist in lore, they just aren't listed on the appendix.[1]
Removed systems
In addition, 10 systems have been removed since the appendix launched:[1]
- Almaran system — merged with the Almar system in the Sluis sector.
- Indrexu Spiral — removed due to being an astronomical object larger than a sector
- Kaliida Shoals — merged with the Ryndellia system, although the list of removed systems says the Ryndellia system was the one removed.
- Shadda-Bi-Boran system — removed as redundant to the Shadda Nebula listing.
- Utozz Prime system — removed due to being a misinterpretation of the Utozz Prime Brewery name.
- Cordaxia system — named after the Cordaxian Sea, which is on Odona, a planet in its own system.
- Koboh Abyss — located in the Koboh system.
- Phelbos system — named after Phelbos, which is located in the Bright Jewel system.
- Tanalorr system — named after Tanalorr, which is located in the Koboh system.
- Valeria system — based on a Wookieepedia typo of Balarian pie; replaced by Balaria system.
