The Ilum system was a star system in the 7G sector of the Unknown Regions that contained the ice planet Ilum[1] in its fifth position,[4] which was important in the training of Jedi younglings,[5] as well as an airless planet furthest from the system's center.[7] The system had one star, a blue dwarf named Asar that was extremely bright for its star type. Located further out in the system was a cometary cloud.[4] Ilum later moved into a neighboring system by the First Order during the construction of a superweapon known as Starkiller Base on the planet.[9]
