The Marzoon sector was a sector in the Mid Rim Territories that contained the Farfax, Marzoon, Salstan, and Xoemefel systems in grid square I-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The Salstan system contained the planet Salstan, where the Cerean Dro-Nal-Pru was marshal of an encampment[2] at some point between 241 BBY and 231 BBY[3] during the High Republic Era.[2]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Marzoon sector first appeared in "Undead or Alive," a story written by Cavan Scott, illustrated by Andy Duggan, and published by Dark Horse Comics in the comic book Tales from the Rancor Pit[2] on November 23, 2022.[4] It was then identified in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[5]
The sector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Fry and Daniel Wallace.[6] The Marzoon sector was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the 2012 StarWars.com article The Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim.[7]
