The Vorzyd sector was a sector of the Outer Rim Territories, and contained the Auratera system, which was situated along the Salin Corridor.[1] A representative from the sector owned an XJ-6 airspeeder that was used by Anakin Skywalker to chase down the bounty hunter Zam Wesell on Coruscant.[3]
During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the pressure of the war prompted the Jedi Order to withdraw the researchers in the sector, in order to avoid catching the attention of the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus—publicly known as the Confederate Head of State Count Dooku—when the Separatists took control of the sector from the Republic,[1] who had initially controlled the sector.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Vorzyd sector was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Ultimate Star Wars, a 2015 reference book published by Dorling Kindersley.[3] The sector was originally created for the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was mentioned in the HoloNet News article Greyshade Proposes Gambling as Revenue, published within HoloNet News Vol. 531 52 in 2002.[4]
