The Gree system was a star system in the Gree Enclave within the Veragi sector of the Outer Rim Territories that contained the astronomic object Gree.[1] The little-known tentacled Gree were native to the system.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Gree system was first introduced in the current Star Wars canon via a map included in the 2016 Fantasy Flight Games roleplaying boxed set Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game.[2] Though was first identified in the appendix "Star Systems of the Galaxy," published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[4]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Gree system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Gree species.
