The Ossiathora system was a star system in the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Western Reaches's[2] Juvex sector. It was situated in grid square L-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The system fell within Galactic Republic space during the High Republic Era.[3] In 228 BBY,[4] a strike in the Ossiathora system disrupted the production of a grain necessary for producing an alcohol used for deglazing engines stuck in the Tyus sector's Pyrlix Miasma. Republic Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh received reports about the situation, briefly considering the vast effects it could have. Her reports also included a list of potential responses to the issue, though her attention was diverted to a different issue before she could investigate further.[3]
Behind the scenes
In the current canon, the Ossiathora system was mentioned in the 2024 novel Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[3] Phase III.[5] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Ossiathora system was first introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[6]

The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force takes place one year and six weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and its events span a few months, it must be set in 228 BBY.
