Phelbos was a celestial body surrounded by several rings[2] of asteroids,[3] located in the Bright Jewel system of the Mid Rim's Bright Jewel sector. Orbiting the star Bright Jewel, Phelbos was situated i grid square L-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Vizsla Keep 09, a military installation constructed and utilized by[2] the Mandalorian terrorist group[4] Death Watch, was hidden in the rings of Phelbos during the Clone Wars.[2]
Behind the scenes
The rings of Phelbos
Phelbos was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Databank entry for Vizsla Keep 09, which went up[2] after the Keep appeared in[5] the third episode of the animated television series Star Wars Rebels' third season, "The Holocrons of Fate,"[6] which aired on October 1, 2016, on Disney XD.[7] While Phelbos itself has yet to be shown, its asteroid rings appeared in the third issue of the comic series Star Wars: Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir,[3] released on July 16, 2014,[8] as well as "The Holocrons of Fate."[5]
With release of "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[9] on June 24, 2025—with both being authored by Jason Fry[10]—Phelbos was placed within the Phelbos system,[9] which conflicted with its placing in the Ord Mantell system established by Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir 3.[1] The update to the appendix that was released on October 13 of the same year subsequently removed mention of the Phelbos system.[11]
