The Hebekrr system[3] of the Outer Rim Territories contained the habitable planets Hebekrr Major and Hebekrr Minor. By the time of the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, Hebekrr Major had been uninhabitable for a long time due to its geologic instability, although archaeological expeditions occasionally visited the planet to recover ancient technology and artifacts.[1] In 22 BBY,[4] in the first weeks of the war, the Separatists besieged Hebekrr Minor's major population centers, which were defended by the Republic Military.[1]
