The Marcol sector was a sector of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Interior.[2] In grid square L-8 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it contained the Julio system and the Barlok system,[1] the latter of which contained the planet Barlok, which was known for its advanced horticultural techniques.[3] Between 34 ABY and 35 ABY,[4] the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs bought bushels of the native prisht-fruit while visiting Barlok during a culinary tour of the galaxy.[3]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Marcol sector was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[5] The sector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in Timothy Zahn's 2006 novel Outbound Flight.[6]

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
