The Mangan system was a star system located in the Colonies. It was situated at the coordinates J-9 on the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and was the origin point of[2] the criminal organization Mangan Ring.[3]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Mangan system was mentioned in the appendix "Star Systems of the Galaxy," published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[4]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Mangan Ring in relation to Mangan system.
