"Just transferred."
"Me too. Shipped in a week ago from the Kolaador system."
―Jano Brayson and Teff[2]

The Kolaador system was a star system located in the Dalchon sector of the Outer Rim Territories. It was situated in grid square R-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]

During the High Republic Era, the Barolian Republic Defense Coalition pilot Teff was stationed in the Kolaador system.[2] In 231 BBY,[3] Teff was transferred from the system to the Galactic Republic space station Starlight Beacon[2] in the Outer Rim's Eiram system.[4] A week later, Teff was reunited with his friend and fellow Barolian Jano Brayson and informed him of his transfer from the Kolaador system.[2]

In 230 BBY, the Nihil marauder organization formed the Occlusion Zone, a region of space stranded behind the Stormwall hyperspace barrier.[5] Two years later,[6] the Nihil expanded the Stormwall after a failed Republic and Jedi assault on the barrier,[7] which left the Kolaador system located on the Stormwall's border[8] until its dissolution[9] later the same year.[10]

Behind the scenes

The High Republic: Tempest Runner marked the first mention of the Kolaador system in the current Star Wars canon.

The High Republic: Tempest Runner marked the first mention of the Kolaador system in the current Star Wars canon.

The Kolaador system was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in flashbacks in The High Republic: Tempest Runner, a 2021 audio drama written by Cavan Scott and published as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[11] Phase I.[12] The spelling of the system's name was later confirmed with the release of the audio drama's script in 2022.[2]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Kolaador system first appeared, albeit unidentified, in Star Wars: Rebel Assault, a 1993 video game developed by LucasArts.[13] The system was later identified in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[14]
