"Lechra has a privately owned Tibanna gas refinery, and there have been a lot of Aurore-class freighters from the Mining Guild coming out of the Lixal sector."
"I've got scouts in Lixal, nothing yet."
―Mon Mothma and Nioma[2]

The Lixal sector was a sector in the Inner Rim Territories that contained the Lechra system. By 4 ABY, Princess Leia Organa had visited the world Lechra within the sector and established a connection with the viceroy that led the world. That year, Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma referenced Mining Guild Aurore-class freighters traveling out of the Lixal sector while speaking with Organa and Rebel Intelligence Major Nioma.

Description

The Lixal sector was a space sector located in the Inner Rim Territories. The sector contained the Lechra system[1]—which in turn held the world Lechra[2]—which was situated in grid square M-14 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]

History

By 4 ABY,[3] during the Imperial Era, Rebel Intelligence Major Nioma had scouts in the Lixal sector.[2] That year,[3] during a discussion held on[2] the Outer Rim[4] Forest Moon of Endor about Princess Leia Organa reaching out to worlds with energy-rich materials in an attempt to persuade them to side with the nascent New Republic, Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma noted that a number of Mining Guild Aurore-class freighters had been traveling out of the Lixal sector. In response, Nioma reported that, according to her scouts in the sector, there had been nothing yet.[2]

The Lixal sector[1] world Lechra hosted a privately owned tibanna gas refinery and was ruled by a viceroy during the Imperial Era.[2] By 4 ABY,[3] the human Leia Organa had visited Lechra and established a connection with the viceroy.[2]

That year,[2] Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma brought up the tibanna gas refinery when speaking with Organa and Rebel Intelligence Major Nioma about the princess reaching out to worlds with energy-rich materials to convince them to side with the forming New Republic. Organa requested that Nioma provide her with data on Lechra, from which she learned that the world had either remained independent or, at minimum, been forced into a financial agreement with the Galactic Empire. Afterward, Organa sent a holomessage to the viceroy, reasonably confident she could persuade them to side with the Republic due to her previously established connection.[2]

Behind the scenes

The Lixal sector was first mentioned in The Princess and the Scoundrel, a 2022 novel written by Beth Revis.[2]
