The Kontahr sector was a sector located in the galaxy's Mid Rim. Twilight Company's transport corvette Thunderstrike was in that sector on the eighty fifth day of the Mid Rim Retreat when it departed the planet Haidoral Prime following its short campaign there. Not long after, the Thunderstrike came across an Imperial reconnaissance squadron in the Kontahr sector, leading to a short battle.
Description
The Kontahr sector was located within an intersecting portion of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] It contained the Aloxor, Cygnus, and Rudun systems at the coordinates R-11 on the Standard Galactic Grid. The Aloxor system[1] included the planet Aloxor,[4] and Rudun III was an orbit[5] of the Rudun system.[1]
History
In 3 ABY,[6] during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, the Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, better known as Twilight Company, travelled into the Kontahr sector after a deployment to the planet Haidoral Prime[3] in the Kastolar sector.[1] On board Twilight Company's CR90 corvette, the Thunderstrike, was Haidoral Prime's Imperial Governor Everi Chalis, who had defected to the company on the world. Held in a brig, Chalis's presence on the Thunderstrike was controversial among Twilight Company personnel, one recruit from Haidoral Prime even trying to visit her with a knife.[3]
Not long afterwards, the Thunderstrike and its escorts, the Braha'tok-class gunship Apailana's Promise and its two X-wing starfighters, cross paths with an Imperial reconnaissance squadron in the Kontahr sector, leading to a short battle. The Thunderstrike and Apailana's Promise took damage, the latter vessel losing three of its crewmembers. First Sergeant Hazram Namir also had to go to the aid of Chalis, who's section was damaged and her brig guard Maediyu unconscious. The Thunderstrike's damages included a hypermatter leak that the Empire's forces discovered after Twilight Company was deployed to the planet Coyerti[3] in the Bortele sector,[1] shortly after its time in the Kontahr sector.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Kontahr sector appeared in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, written by Alexander Freed.[3] The 2025 appendix "Star Systems of the Galaxy" moved the Aloxor system and Cygnus systems to the sector, changing their prior placements in the Esaga sector.
