The Thousand Moons system was a star system in the Circarpous sector of the Expansion Region.[1] Due to a plot to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala, she and the Jedi Anakin Skywalker posed as refugees from the system while traveling on board the AA-9 Freighter-Liner Jendirian Valley from the planet Coruscant to the planet Naboo during the Separatist Crisis[2] in 22 BBY.[3] While in disguise, Amidala wore a yellow headress in a style from the Thousand Moons system.[4]

Behind the scenes

The Thousand Moons system was mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the "Starship Fact File" department of the 2015 magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 50,[2] which was written by Tim Veekhoven.[5] The system originated in the Star Wars Legends community, where it was first mentioned in the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by David West Reynolds.[6]
