The Skynara system was a star system located in Skine sector[3] of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and Trailing Sectors,[2] positioned in grid square P-19 of the Standard Galactic Grid. The system was located on a hyperspace route that branched out toward Spice Terminus and the Suarbi and Vohai systems.[1] In 34 ABY,[4] several screens aboard Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon displayed a partial map of the galaxy that indicated its position.[5]
Behind the scenes
The Skynara system was first shown in the current Star Wars canon on a map in the article "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?", published on StarWars.com on January 29, 2016. While its name was not visible on the map,[6] Skynara was later identified by as simply "Skynara" in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a roleplaying boxed set published by Fantasy Flight Games[1] in August 2016.[7]
The system's first in-universe appearance came in the form of being depicted on a map viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida[5] that opened to the public on March 1, 2022,[8] and had its final voyage from September 28 to 30, 2023.[9] It was then identified as the Skynara system in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[3] on June 24, 2025, written by Jason Fry.[10]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Skynara system was first introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Fry.[11] The Clone Wars: Act on Instinct, a webcomic authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released on StarWars.com[12] over the span of the 2009[13]–2010[14] second season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series,[13] featured the first appearance of the system.[12]
