The Abaar sector was a sector in the Mid Rim Territories. Situated iIn grid square K-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it contained the Abaarian system and the Paklarn system. The Paklarn system[1] contained the planet Paklarn, where the smuggler Nevil Cygni set up an iridium smuggling operation using grist mollusk shells during the Imperial Era.[2] In 11 BBY,[3] Imperial Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo uncovered the operation and Cygni's men were arrested.[2]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Abaar sector was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[4] The sector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Daniel Wallace and Fry.[5] In 2011, the sector was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the Online Companion feature "Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim."[6]
