The Belkadan system was a star system in the the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the New Territories'[2] Dalonbian sector. It was situated within grid square L-1 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and contained the astronomical object Belkadan.[3] Around 10 BBY,[4] a job listing for a deep space signal surveyor based at Belkadan was featured on a viewscreen in Sornah's Garage on[3] the Mid Rim planet[5] Malastare.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Belkadan system was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 boxed set for Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[6] The system was later identified as the "Belkadan system" in "Star Systems of the Galaxy,"[1] an appendix accompanying the Star Wars Galaxy Map, an article on StarWars.com featuring a map of the galaxy.[7] Both works were authored by Jason Fry and posted on June 24, 2025.[8] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Belkadan system first appeared in the 1998 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Rebellion, which was developed by Coolhand Interactive.[9]
