The Crombach Nebula was located in the Belsmuth sector of the Outer Rim[1] and New Territories.[2] It was situated in grid square O-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] During the Clone Wars,[3] fought between 22 BBY and 19 BBY,[4] the nebula served as the site of an engagement between Galactic Republic Jedi Master Wom-Nii Gnaden, who was piloting an NTB-630 naval bomber, and a Confederacy of Independent Systems Munificent-class star frigate. During the battle at the Crombach Nebula, Master Gnaden was killed following his bomber's collision with the frigate, leaving a mark on the warship's starboard hull.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Crombach Nebula was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles.[5] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Crombach Nebula was introduced in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections, a 2005 reference book authored by Curtis Saxton.[6] It was later first depicted in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[7]
