Biitu system

The Biitu system was a star system in the Tadrin sector within the Cassander sector of the Outer Rim Territories^[1] and New Territories.^[2] It was located in grid square K-5 of the Standard Galactic Grid.^[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Biitu system was mentioned as just "Biitu" on a map of the galaxy^[3] designed by Christopher Ibbitt^[4] and written by Jason Fry^[5] in the reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations, New Edition,^[3] which was released on March 6, 2025.^[6] It was then identified as the Biitu system in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com^[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were also written by Fry.^[7]

The system orginated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in "The Great Heep," a television movie released as part of the animated series Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO^[8] on June 7, 1986.^[9] It was then identified for the first time in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book by Fry and Daniel Wallace.^[10]
