Almania system

The Almania system was a star system in the Outer Rim Territories^[1] and the New Territories.^[2] It was located in grid square S-5 on the Standard Galactic Grid, situated in the Almanian sector, which was a subsector of the Mortex sector.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The Almania system was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 boxed set for Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.^[3] The system was later identified as the "Almania system" in "Star Systems of the Galaxy,"^[1] an appendix accompanying the Star Wars Galaxy Map, an article on StarWars.com featuring a map of the galaxy.^[4] Both works were authored by Jason Fry and posted on June 24, 2025.^[5]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Almanian system was introduced in The New Rebellion, a 1996 novel authored by Kristine Kathryn Rusch.^[6] It was later identified as the Almania system in the reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia, written by Stephen J. Sansweet^[7] and published on June 30, 1998.^[8] The Almanian system was later given its first visual depiction in The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons, a reference book authored by Daniel Wallace and illustrated by Brandon McKinney and Scott Kolins^[9] that was released in July of the same year.^[10]
