The Malador system was a star system in the Juvex sector of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Western Reaches.[2] It fell within grid square L-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and contained Malador, a terrestrial planet where the Galactic Empire constructed factories and mining processes around 14 BBY, resulting in the world's atmosphere to become effectively unbreathable. This in turn caused Malador's wealthiest inhabitants to abandon it.[3]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Malador system was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[4] The Malador system originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Fry and Daniel Wallace.[5]
