The Dozoisia system was located in the Sevetta sector, a part of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] It was situated in grid square S-15 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and was the origin point of Dozoisian Snark poison.[3][4]

Behind the scenes

The Dozoisia system was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[5] The system was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity via a mention in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[6]

The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (December 11, 2007): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Dozoisian Snark in relation to the Dozoisia system.
