The Shalyvane system was a star system located in the Indrexu sector of the Outer Rim Territories. It was situated in grid square S-5 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Shalyvane system was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[2] The system originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the sixtith issue of the 1977 Star Wars comic book series, which was written by David Michelinie and Walter Simonson, with Simonson also illustrating, and published by Marvel Comics[3] on March 16, 1982.[4] It was then identified in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Fry and Daniel Wallace.[5]
