The Humbarine system was a star system in[1] the wealthy and industrialized[4] Humbarine sector of the Core Worlds[1] and the Slice.[2] It fell within grid square M-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and contained Humbarine,[3] a terrestrial[5] world that served as sector capital.[3] The system was connected by a hyperspace route to the Commenor[6] and Gatalenta[7] systems[1] as well as the Hydian Way route.[6]

During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Humbarine sector suffered from heavy fighting, with Humbarine itself suffering a bombardment from the Confederacy of Independent Systems Navy.[3] t shared its name with both the dish known as Humbarine chipplets and the entity known as the Humbarine Ore Caravan, which, in the first draft of his holobook, "Hondo's Memoirs," the Weequay pirate captain Hondo Ohnaka claimed to have decimated at some point at least twenty cycles before[8] 3 ABY.[9]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Humbarine system was mentioned as just "Humbarine" on a map in the StarWars.com blog post "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?," which was written by Mark Newbold and published on January 29, 2016.[10] It was then identified as the Humbarine system in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map article on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both the appendix and "The Star Wars Galaxy" were written by Jason Fry.[11]

The Humbarine system originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first depicted when the planet Humbarine, and therefore the star system containing in, appeared on a map in the 2005 reference book The New Essential Chronology by Daniel Wallace and Kevin J. Anderson.[12] It first appeared in the non-canonical 2009 mobile game Star Wars: Jedi Mind Tricks.[13]

The system was first identified in Legends in The Essential Atlas, which was written by Wallace and Fry[14] and published on August 18, 2009.[15] The Clone Wars: Act on Instinct, a webcomic authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released on StarWars.com[16] over the span of the 2009[17]2010[18] second season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series,[17] featured the first canonical appearance of the system with respect to the Legends continuity.[16]
