The Krenhner sector was a sector of the Inner Rim Territories that contained the Gmar Askilon system and the Krenhner system in grid square L-14 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Krenhner sector was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[2] The sector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Shield of Lies, the second novel in Michael P. Kube-McDowell's The Black Fleet Crisis series[3] which was released in September 1996.[4] The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, by Daniel Wallace and Fry, then placed the Gmar Askilon system in the Krenhner sector,[5] retroactively making the sector's first appearance the novel Before the Storm, which was the first book in the The Black Fleet Crisis trilogy[6] and was released in March 1996.[7]
