The Mortex sector^[2] was located in the Outer Rim Territories. It housed the Choah Belt. During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance established a fuel refinery within the asteroid field. Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, by 0 ABY, the refinery was discovered and attacked by the Galactic Empire, destroying it in the engagement. With the refinery lost, the rebel forces stationed in the sector suffered from critical fuel shortages.^[1]
