The Brentaal system was a star system in the Bormea sector of the Core Worlds[1] that contained at least one planet, the gas giant Cavas.[3] It lay at the junction of the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route, two of the galaxy's most vital hyperspace routes, as well as the Commenor Run.[5] During the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire carried out an incursion into the Bormea sector, using jamming ships to cause communications blackouts for the New Republic. Commander Lindon Javes sent Vanguard Squadron to investigate these blackouts on the edge of the Brentaal System and re-establish communications.[3]
Behind the scenes
Brentaal System was first identified in Star Wars canon in the 2020 video game Star Wars: Squadrons.[3] The Brentaal system first appeared in Star Wars Legends.[6]

(In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).
