The Benkal system was a star system situated in grid square H-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid, in Wild Space.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Benkal system was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon via the appendix Star Systems of the Galaxy, published on the StarWars.com website[1] as part of Star Wars Galaxy Map[2] on June 24, 2025. Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[3] The system was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas written by Fry and Daniel Wallace.[4]
