The Surakkea system was a star system in the Terr'skiar sector of the Mid Rim Territories[1] that was the home[2] of the Surakkean peacock.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Surrakea system was created for "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[4] It was created as a homeworld for the Surakkean peacock from the short story "Fake It Till You Make It," though the initial version of the appendix featured a different spelling than the story.[3] The October 13 iteration of the appendix corrected the spelling to Surakkea.[5]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Surakkean peacock in relation to Surrakea system.
