The Asyrphus system was located in the Mid Rim Territories' Perkell sector in grid square Q-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It contained the terrestrial astronomical object Asyrphus, where the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry was deployed[2] at some point between 1 BBY and 3 ABY.[3] A bombardment massacred many members of the 61st during its deployment.[2]

Behind the scenes

The Asyrphus system was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix released alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map[1]—both works having been authored by Jason Fry and published on StarWars.com on June 24, 2025.[4]

  3. Star Wars: Timelines dates the main events of Battlefront: Twilight Company, including the mention of the massacre at Asyrphus, to 3 ABY. In the novel, Hazram Namir, who was present for the massacre, joined the 61st Mobile Infantry shortly after the Battle of the Tower, which occurs nineteen years after the Clone Wars in the novel, and before the Battle of Yavin. Since Star Wars: Timelines places the end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY, the massacre at Asyrphus must have occurred sometime between 1 BBY and 3 ABY.
