The Sawaya system was a star system that contained almost a dozen inhabitable planets. When attempting to evade the New Republic Security Bureau above Yavin 4, several Spice Runners of Kijimi in the freighter Ragged Claw, led by Zorii Wynn, pretended to hold Poe Dameron, who willingly joined the group as their pilot, hostage. Wynn claimed to intend to leave Dameron somewhere in the Sawaya system, a ruse that eventually led the New Republic officers to allow their passage from Yavin 4.[2]
