The Morshdine sector was a sector of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and New Territories.[2] In grid square O-4 of the Standard Galactic Grid it contained the Di'wor, Miglar, Skaross, and Tangrene systems. In grid square O-5 it contained the Altyr, Camden, Desinta, Dur Sabon, Edusa, Nichen, Ootoola, Thabeska, Valnoos, and Vandyne systems.[1]

The Valnoos system[1] contained the origin point of riftwalker sabacc, Valnoos.[3] The Desinta system contained Desinta, an ice planet where a civil war between the Desintian government and multiple other factions including the Dan'Gar occured[4] between the years 42 BBY and 32 BBY.[5] The Thabeska system contained the planet Thabeska, where fugitive former Jedi Ahsoka Tano hid for two stretches of time during the early Imperial Era following Order 66, and another inhabited world with at least two moons.[6] In 3 ABY,[7] the Imperial Navy destroyed a Rebel Alliance capital ship in the Altyr system during the Galactic Civil War.[8]

The story is also set prior to Qui-Gon Jinn's death in the Battle of Naboo, which is dated to 32 BBY by Galactic Atlas.
