The Tiss'sharl system was a star system located in the Xappyh sector within the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the New Territories.[2] It was positioned in grid square R-4 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The reptilian Tiss-shar were native to the system.[3][4]
Behind the scenes
The Tiss'sharl system was first mentioned on a label as "Tiss'Sharl" in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Fantasy Flight Games' roleplaying game boxed set.[5] It was then identified by name as the Tiss'Sharl system in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[6] The October 13, 2025,[7] update to the appendix changed the capitalization system's entry to be the Tiss'sharl system, which this article assumes is correct.[1]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Tiss'sharl system first appeared, albeit unidentified, in the thirty-first issue in the comic series Star Wars: Empire. The issue was written by Scott Allie, illustrated by Joe Corroney, and published by Dark Horse Comics[8] on May 18, 2005.[9] The system was later identified in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Fry and Daniel Wallace.[10]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Tiss'sharl system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Tiss-shar species.
