The Ividal sector was a sector of the Mid Rim Territories that contained the Uvadala system in grid square P-15 of the Standard Galactic Grid. It also contained the Ividal system and Ongary system in grid square P-14 and the Tomark system in grid square Q-14,[1] all three of which fell within the Slice.[2] The Tomark system[1] contained Tomark, an astronomical object that served as an operations headquarters for the Alliance to Restore the Republic[3] by 2 BBY.[4]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Ividal sector was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[5] The sector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was introduced in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Fry.[6] In 2012, the sector was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the Online Companion feature "Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim."[7]

The Essential Atlas Online Companion placed the Tomark system, and therefore the world Tomark II, in the Ividal sector,[6] thereby retroactively establishing the world's original appearance in "The Ando Project," a roleplaying game adventure authored by Chris Doyle for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and published in the eleventh issue of the Star Wars Adventure Journal in November 1996, as a de facto appearance of the sector, as well.[8]
