The Null system was a star system in the Trans-Vulta sector of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the New Territories.[2] It fell within grid square N-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and contained Null, an astronomical object where whisper birds could be found.[3]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Null system was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[4]
The system originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the 2003 young-reader novel Legacy of the Jedi, which was written by Jude Watson and published as part of the Clone Wars multimedia project.[5] It was then depicted for the first time in the sixty-fifth issue of the Star Wars: Republic series of comic books, which was written by John Ostrander, illustrated by Jan Duursema, and published by Dark Horse Comics[6] on June 2, 2004.[7] The system was then first identified in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Fry and Daniel Wallace.[8]
