The Cygnus system was located in the Kontahr sector, a part of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] It was situated in grid square R-11 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Cygnus system was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[3] The Cygnus B system was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity via a mention in "Cantina Communications," a one-page vignette authored by John Chesterman and included in the sixteenth issue of the Star Wars Official Poster Monthly magazine, published in 1979 by Paradise Press.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry subsequently provided the shortened designation "Cygnus system."[5]
