The Maltheen Divide system was a star system located in the Mid Rim Territories' Trax sector.[1] The system was situated in grid square Q-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and contained the Maltheen Divide, an Imperial planet where in 4 BBY, Director of Advanced Weapons Research Orson Callan Krennic hosted a secret conference at a fortress on the planet where members of the Ghorman project planned the genocide of Ghorman people to facilitate imperial gouge mining of Ghorman for the rare mineral kalkite needed in the DS-1 Orbital Battle Station's superlaser.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Maltheen Divide first appeared, albeit unidentified, in "One Year Later," the debut episode of the second season of the television series Andor which was released on Disney+[3] on April 22, 2025.[4] The system remained unidentified until an updated version of "Star Systems of the Galaxy" released on October 13 2025,[5] an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com identified the system.[1]

Same galaxy, same map. In the rare event something needs to be changed, it will be discussed. (In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).
