The Sugai sector was a sub-sector of the Zuma sector in the Outer Rim Territories. In grid square H-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it contained the Firrerre, Houche, Karthon, Necropolis, Rodis, and Tharl systems.[1]
The Tharl system contained the location Tharl, where the Graf family used a wooden lodge during the Imperial Era.[2] The Firrerre system contained the world Firrerre, the site of a consular office for the Space Ministry of the New Republic during the New Republic Era.[3] The Karthon system contained the prison moon Karthon, where the prisoner Migs Mayfeld served time in the Karthon Chop Fields during the New Republic Era.[4] The Necropolis system contained the junk planet Necropolis, where Resistance members Rey, Chewbacca, and BB-8 were forced to land in the YT-1300 light freighter Millennium Falcon while on their way to find Jedi Master Luke Skywalker[5] in 34 ABY.[6]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Sugai sector first appeared in Age of Resistance - Rey 1, a comic book in the Star Wars: Age of Resistance series written by Tom Taylor, illustrated by Ramon Rosanas, and published by Marvel Comics[5] on September 18, 2019[7] It was then identified as the Sugai sector in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[8]
The subsector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the 1994 novel The Crystal Star by Vonda N. McIntyre.[9] It was then first identified in "Endor and the Moddell Sector," an article written by Craig Robert Carey, Fry, and Daniel Wallace and published in the ninth issue of Star Wars Gamer magazine[10] on March 12, 2002[11]
