The Phu system[4] was located in the regions known as the Colonies[1] and the Interior.[2] It was situated in grid square J-13 of the Standard Galactic Grid and contained[1] the world Phu. Phu was colonized at some point by Bardottans from the planet Bardotta.[3]
In 22 BBY,[5] a Galactic Republic task force of Venator-class Star Destroyers entered the Phu system, searching for the Separatists' heavy cruiser Malevolence during the Clone Wars. Coming under ambush, the Malevolence destroyed the Star Destroyers and fled without notice.[4] Years later, in 34 ABY,[6] the star system's location was noted on a galactic map displayed on several screens aboard the Star Cruiser Halcyon.[7]
Behind the scenes
In the current canon, the Phu system was introduced in Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 43.
The Phu system was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the "Starship Fact File" section of the forty-third issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[4] published around October 28, 2015[8] and written by Mark Newbold.[9] Phu system's first in-universe appearance came in the form of being depicted on a map viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida[7] that opened to the public on March 1, 2022,[10] and had its final voyage from September 28 to 30, 2023.[11]
The system was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity via map placement in the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I by Kristin Lund.[12] It was later identified by name upon its first appearance in The Clone Wars: Shakedown, authored by Pablo Hidalgo as the second issue of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars webcomics series[13] and published on October 2, 2008.[14]
