The Cadinth system was a star system located in the Allied Tion sector, a subsector of[1] the Tion Cluster.[3] It was situated in the regions known as the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] Located in grid square S-6 on the Standard Galactic Grid,[1] the Cadinth system was situated along a hyperspace route which connected it to the astronomical object Lianna and the Jaminere system.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Cadinth system was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 boxed set for Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[3] The system was later identified as the "Cadinth system" in "Star Systems of the Galaxy,"[1] an appendix accompanying the Star Wars Galaxy Map, an article on StarWars.com featuring a map of the galaxy.[4] Both works were authored by Jason Fry and posted on June 24, 2025.[5]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Cadinth system was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[6] The StarWars.com Online Companion to The Essential Atlas placed[7] the planet[8] Cadinth in the system,[7] thus making the world's first appearance—"The Battle of Cadinth," a short story authored by Bill Smith and published in the second issue of the Star Wars Galaxy Magazine series released by The Topps Company, Inc.[8] in January 1995,[9] retroactively the system's first appearance.[7]
