The Ambria system was a star system in the Airon sector of the Inner Rim Territories[1] and the Slice[2] that fell within grid square O-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] A hyperspace route connected it to the Onderon system[4] and the Merson system.[5] The Ambria system contained the unpleasant desert planet Ambria, which was in tune with the Dark side of the Force.[3]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Ambria system was first mentioned as just "Ambria" on a map of the galaxy included in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Star Wars Roleplaying set published by Fantasy Flight Games.[4] The system was first pictured in an image of Ambria in the second issue of De Agostini's Star Wars Helmet Collection magazine series,[3] published on September 2, 2014.[6] It was first identified as the Ambria system in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[7]

The Ambria system originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the third issue of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi comic book series, which was written by Tom Veitch, illustrated by Janine Johnston, and published by Dark Horse Comics[8] on December 21, 1993.[9] The system was initially known as the Stenness system[8] but was identified as the Ambria system in the 1998 reference book The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons, which was written by Daniel Wallace.[10]
