The Portmoak sector was a sector of the galaxy.[4] In 29 BBY,[5] the Toong podracer Ben Quadinaros made up a story about him declining an invitation from the notorious Dug racer Sebulba to jointly headline a race somewhere in the sector. He told the story while entertaining a number of other racers competing with him in the Varl Circuit on the Moons of Varl.[4]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Portmoak sector was first mentioned in Padawan's Pride, a 2024 audio book written by Bryan Q. Miller.[4] It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a 1993 supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Simon Smith and Eric S. Trautmann and published by West End Games.[6] The sector then appeared for the first time in the 2008 short story "Fists of Ion," which was written by Edward M. Erdelac and published in the Hyperspace section of StarWars.com.[7]

(In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).
