The Redoubt was an astronomical object located in Wild Space, in grid square H-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Redoubt was first partially mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the January 29, 2016 StarWars.com article "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?" by Mark Newbold.[2] Its full name was later provided on the galactic map included in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game,[1] an August 2016[3] Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the star cluster known as the Redoubt first appeared in the 2004 novel Survivor's Quest, written by Timothy Zahn,[4] and it was first visually depicted by Tommy Lee Edwards in the 2005 reference book The New Essential Chronology.[5]
