The Thuldin's Grant sector was a sector in the Expansion Region that contained the Cro-Akon system and the Garen system in grid square J-15 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The Cro-Akon system contained Cro-Akon, an astronomical object with an icy tundra.[2] Between 0 ABY and 3 ABY,[3] a construction crew worked on building a new settlement in the tundra, but were attacked by enslavers led by the Tectozin U'rum who captured the construction droid Zeta.[2] The Garen system contained Garen IV, which served as a prison world during the reign of the Galactic Empire[4] and that of the New Republic.[5]
Behind the scenes
The Thuldin's Grant sector originated in the Online Companion to The Essential Atlas.
In the current Star Wars canon, the Thuldin's Grant sector first appeared in a flashback in the 2017 novel The Legends of Luke Skywalker, which was written by Ken Liu.[2] It was then depicted for the first time in the "I, Droid" portion of the 2020 manga adaptation of the novel, which was written and illustrated by Haruichi.[6] The system was first identified in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[7]
The sector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Fry and Daniel Wallace.[8] The Thuldin's Grant sector was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the 2012 StarWars.com article Essential Atlas Extra: Expansion Region.[9]
