"Kadavo system." - ―Anakin Skywalker and Miraj Scintel
The Kadavo system was a star system[2] located in Wild Space,[1] and contained the planet Kadavo, which primary language was Galactic Basic Standard.[3] At some point, the Zygerrian Slave Empire established a slave processing facility on the surface, which was headed by Zygerrian Keeper Agruss.[2] In 20 BBY,[4] during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Galactic Republic launched an attack against the slave processing facility, which the Zygerrian Slave Empire had used to press a colony of Togruta into slavery. As a result, the facility was destroyed by Republic forces during the battle, who managed to free the Togrutas from slavery.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Kadavo system first appeared in the new Star Wars canon in "Slaves of the Republic,"[3] the twelfth episode of the fourth season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which aired on December 2, 2011.[5] The system was later identified in "Escape from Kadavo,"[2] the fourth season's thirteenth episode of the same series,[6] which aired on January 6, 2012.[7] The Kadavo system first appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity in The Clone Wars 5, the fifth issue of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Slaves of the Republic miniseries authored by Henry Gilroy in 2009.[8]
