- "As for the Janikki clan, they've been ordered to coordinate efforts in the Ishbix system… where several of them are wanted for crimes that significantly predate their time with the Nihil."
- ―Thaya Ferr
The Ishbix system was a star system[4] located in the Agarix sector of[3] the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Western Reaches,[2] situated in grid square of K-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] During the High Republic Era, several members of the Janikki clan were wanted in the Ishbix system for their crimes.[4]
In 230 BBY,[5] when Thaya Ferr, assistant of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro in the Nihil marauder organization, strategically transferred crew off of Ro's flagship, the Gaze Electric, she assigned the Janikki clan—by that point part of the Nihil and at risk of claiming power due to their loyalty to each other—to coordinate efforts in the Ishbix system. Ferr hoped that the Janikki clan would be nervous as a result of their wanted status in the system and would thus make errors that would result in them losing their strength, and was praised by Ro for her choice when she reported the transfers to him.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Ishbix system was first mentioned in the 2022 novel The High Republic: The Fallen Star, written by Claudia Gray[4] as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.[6]
