The Ianane system was located in Wild Space[1] and the Interior.[2] It was situated in grid square I-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Ianane system was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[3]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Ianane system was originally meant to be introduced in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Fry and Paul R. Urquhart; however, the sidebar that would have mentioned the system was cut before the book's release. The information regarding the Ianane system was later released in 2013 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss containing various cut content from The Essential Guide to Warfare.[4]
