The Sprizen sector was a sector within the Outer Rim Territories.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Sprizen sector, albeit unidentified, originally became canon when it appeared in "A Sunny Day in the Void," the eleventh episode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' fifth season.[3] The sector was later named in the 2015 Dorling Kindersley reference book Ultimate Star Wars, a reference book co-written by Patricia Barr, Adam Bray, Daniel Wallace, and Ryder Windham[1]
In the 2024 Dorling Kindersley reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy, the planet Abafar was moved to the Quelii sector.[4] Abafar system was also moved to the Quelii sector in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," a canon appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[2] on June 24, 2025,[5] further supporting the change.[2] Jason Fry—an author who contributed on the appendix[5]—stated that there were no plans of changing the star system's current placement when asked.[6]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Sprizen sector first appeared in The Keeper's World, a serialized comic story published through nine issues of Marvel Comics' magazine Pizzazz from October 1977 to June 1978.[7] It was first identified in The Essential Atlas Online Companion, a series of articles on StarWars.com published in the wake of the release of the Star Wars Legends reference book The Essential Atlas by its authors Fry and Daniel Wallace.[8]
