The Vena system was located in the Nojic sector of the Expansion Region[1] and the Slice[2] within grid square P-9 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The star system was located along a hyperspace route[4] between the Rajtiri and Bravais systems of the Expansion Region and the Inner Rim, respectively.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Vena system was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in "The History of Neimoidia,"[5] an article written by Mark Newbold[6] in the "Guide to the Galaxy" department of the fifty-second issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[5] which was published by De Agostini around December 30, 2015.[7] It was later identified as the "Vena system" in "Star Systems of the Galaxy,"[1] an appendix accompanying the Star Wars Galaxy Map, an article on StarWars.com featuring a map of the galaxy.[8] It was authored by Jason Fry and posted on June 24, 2025.[9]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Vena system was first mentioned in the first issue of the 2000 comic series Star Wars: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan: Last Stand on Ord Mantell, which was written by Ryder Windham and published by Dark Horse Comics[10] on December 20, 2000.[11] It was then identified as the "Vena system" in "Before the Rise," an article to supplement the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, a roleplaying game produced by Wizards of the Coast. The article was authored by J.D. Wiker and posted on Wizards.com on April 11, 2002.[12]
