SantctureMassacre
"No! Mesa people are bein destroyen!"
―Gallo
The Destruction of Otoh Sancture was an attack on the Gungan city of Otoh Sancture on the planet Naboo during the war that had broken out between the various tribes of the amphibious Gungan race that took place sometime around 3000 BBY. Before its destruction, Otoh Sancture had been a peaceful city and its leader, Boss Gallo, had taken a pacifist stance in the war and refused to fight other Gungans. However, this concerned Boss Rogoe, the Gungan Boss behind the war, who believed that if Gallo joined the fighting he would drastically change the tide of it. To ensure this would not happen, Rogoe ordered a colony of bursas, a dangerous semi-sentient species native to Naboo, to destroy Otoh Sancture and kill Gallo. However, Gallo happened to be away from the city on a hunt for animals for the Sacred Feast, a Gungan thanksgiving celebration, when the bursas arrived and destroyed the city. Gallo observed the attack from afar, mourning the loss of his city without the knowledge of who was responsible. He then retreated into the forests and discovered that it was Rogoe who had destroyed his city, prompting him to raise a small army to take Otoh Sancture's ruins back from the bursas, beginning his campaign to destroy Boss Rogoe, unite the Gungans, and bring peace to Naboo. During the Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY, a temporarily disabled Trade Federation base was attacked as part of the Naboo resistance effort. Knire Dark was a Syboona female smuggler and Podracer pilot, hailing from the Outer Rim planet Syboona. Dark was active during the final decades of the Galactic Republic, during which she used the sport of Podracing as a front for her illegal smuggling activities around 24 BBY. Although it was merely a ploy, she held enough racing skill with her Serabyss Howler 1165 to promote herself as the track favorite for the Ballast Complex racetrack on the watery planet of Mon Calamari, despite her lack of any actual speed records for the course. Her smuggling career was later uprooted by 22 BBY when Republic authorities raided a contraband storehouse of hers. (Read more…)

While incarcerated around 32 BBY, during the final decades of the Galactic Republic, Sang was considered a mediocre pilot at best. Nevertheless, the prison warden, Fenn Booda, occasionally granted Sang the opportunity to participate in Podraces that Booda hosted in the prison, which provided the inmates a form of entertainment. Piloting a BRE Block6 Tri-Ram Podracer, Sang managed to garner intimate knowledge of one of the planet's courses and became quite successful there. Instead, he relied on only a small Pizer-Errol Stinger 627 S and his own cunning to win races. Though his craft was delicate, it responded well on turns and proved to be a great asset to him on the galaxy's twistier courses. "Zoochberries used to be a pretty popular ingredient, grown on a number of worlds and used in countless recipes. But over the years, this former staple lost some of its luster as hyperspace tradin' routes made hundreds of varieties of rare and exotic berries avaliable to planets across the Outer Rim. Suddenly, the ol' zoochberry didn't seem so special anymore, and folks stopped growin' and harvestin' 'em. The result was a steep hike in price for what was once one of the cheapest berries on the market."
―Strono Tuggs, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook
Zoochberries were a type of berry that was at one point a cheap and popular staple ingredient grown on many worlds and used in many recipes. In 9 BBY, the Latero Greez Dritus made a zoochberry pie for the human Kata Akuna, who found it delicious.

As hyperspace trading made other berries more available, the popularity and production of zoochberries decreased, causing their price to increase. Because of this, the chef Strono Tuggs served those who craved zoochberries a Zoochberry Surprise, a dish containing no zoochberries. (Read more…)
